New Passholder Prices, and a Possible Pricing Change

In a some what expected move, Disney increased Walt Disney World Annual Pass prices, and Disneyland California Annual Pass prices. Essentially, they are increasing the price, but giving you more bang for your buck. Although, I regret to inform any out-of-state residents that if you held anything less than Premium Passes, you’ll be forced to upgrade on your next renewal.

I’ve been having trouble getting into the Passholder portion on the MyDisneyExperience website, but here are the new pricing break downs, and their new names.

As you may have noticed there are two parts to this announcement, Disney is also considering changing tickets to utilize peak & off-peak pricing schemes. It would be the first time since Disney removed ride tickets that they’ve changed how ticket pricing works.

If you’ve been to Disney recently, even during off-peak days, you’ve noticed that parks are much more crowded. Disney knows that a full park is not a very fun park, and its something they’ve been struggling with since an uptick in park attendance throughout the early 2000’s and all the way to today. FastPass and more recently FastPass+ are Disney’s first cracks at trying to manage crowds, but if the park is full, there is only so much you can do. Surge ticket pricing would give park-goers the opportunity to decide if they want to go on a weekend and pay a premium, or go on a week day and save a few bucks.

Annual Passholders will not have to directly deal with the dilemma.
